"I attended your workshop in September of this year and successfully completed my CPNE 2 weeks later.  I just wanted to let you know that all of the information you provided in your workshop got me right on track and allowed me to stay focused on what I needed to know to pass the clinical exam.  I really appreciate all of the time and effort you spend putting into your workshop for the CPNE eligible students.  I honestly think that I would have been totally lost if I had not attended your workshop."  Cynthia Guest, GN

Hey Lynn,  I attended your workshop in June, Texas.  Just wanted you to know... I took my CPNE, passed... Only IV push repeat, had small bubble in syringe/no repeats on PCS.... Bought your critical elements video and Labs skills.  Watched them until I memorized every word coming out of your mouth... Feel like your family now... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  I dont expect a reply but wanted you to know...add me to your list of successes...

What to Ask Yourself when choosing a workshop!

Let me first inform you that I am not affiliated with Excelsior College. I am a graduate of their nursing program.  The Excelsior college workshop is the only official workshop for the CPNE. Anyone else stating that they are an official workshop is misleading you with untruths. We are independent companies performing a service.  No one but Excelsior college has an OFFICIAL CPNE WORKSHOP

The college does not endorse any other workshops but it's on. I have been teaching workshops for four years.  I am highly recommended and the most sought after workshop out there. Are there other good workshops yes, but to make sure you are choosing a good workshop ask yourself these following questions.  We, at Clinical Prep Exam want to see you be successful.  Do your homework on all available workshops before you make a choice! There are so many unqualified workshops, please make sure you choose a good one!

1) Is the instructor an Excelsior College Graduate?  It is better to attend a workshop taught by someone who has been through the program! The instructor must understand your struggle and what it is the college is looking for! It is NOT possible to do that unless you have taken the CPNE. Observation or simply having RN behind your name could never take the place of the experience of taking the actual CPNE.

2) How long have they been in business? There are a lot of fly by night companies out there trying to start a workshop. Claiming to be graduates and claiming to do extensive study in unimaginable times.  Find out how long they have been in business. You can't get good feedback if there aren't a few years behind them. Not when there is a 6 to 8 month CPNE wait time. Any company publishing a pass rate should have been in business for at least 2 yrs to establish true credibility.

3) Can I talk to at least 5 or 6 people who have attended this workshop and get good feedback? Talk to people who can prove their graduation status. Don't just believe word through email. Verify that you are talking to a real graduate who can give you honest feedback. Talk to people on the EPN network.

4) Is the length of time right? When you add up the cost, the CPNE will end up running around $3000. When taking a workshop, make sure there is plenty of time to process the information and to ask the questions that you need answered. Cramming everything into a couple of hours to a day will prove to be non-effective.

5) Is it cost effective? Can I afford to go? In today's economy, at the cost of around $3000 to take he CPNE, can you afford not to go?

6) Is there extra help if I need it? In studies it has been proven that you only retain 10% of what you hear, 20% of what you read. All of this information is overwhelming! Make sure there are other resources available to you that cover your areas of weakness.

7) What is the reputation of the instructors? Talk to students, real & verifiable EC graduates! This is where you will get your best information!

8)  Does this instructor talk over peoples head or is the material made simple enough that diverse backgrounds could easily understand it?  Make sure that the inforrmation that you are taking in is not so limited, so advanced, so accelerated and so condensed that you retain nothing of what you went to learn. A big study guide is no good if the instructor's explanation was not understood.

9) Does the workshop  have a proven track record?  Look for feedback from students who have passed! This is where you will find what it is you need to know to make your workshop choice! Make sure there is verifiable contact information for referrals.
